You'll have easy access to the Aravis mountains and the spectacular lakeside town of Annecy when you stay at Chalet Hychris, in the village of Alex.
There are some shops and restaurants in the village, but there's much more choice in Thônes (9km). It's just 7km to the beautiful village of Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where you can enjoy a meal overlooking the stunning Lake Annecy, take a boat trip across the lake or visit the spectacular castle. The medieval town of Annecy is just 12km away.
If you're visiting in the winter, you can easily get to the Aravis ski resorts of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod in 30 minutes.
Back at Chalet Hychris, you'll will love the large flat garden and sunny terrace - the lovely mountain views, best enjoyed from the hot tub. There's a slide for young children, and plenty of space to play.
About the property ...
Chalet Hychris has been recently renovated to provide comfortable accommodation for up to eight guests.
The main living area on the ground floor is open plan, and has cosy seating areas for watching the television or relaxing with friends. The new kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal for a hungry crowd and there's plenty of room to enjoy it at the large dining table.
Doors open from the living area on to the large sunny terrace, which has an awning to add some shade on a sunny day. Relax and enjoy the fabulous views from the hot tub or enjoy a barbecue - there's another dining table outside. Younger children will love the slide, and there's plenty of room for them to run around on the lawn.
There's a double bedroom on this floor, with an en suite shower room and a separate toilet. The bed can be arranged as a kingsize or two singles, according to your needs. There are two more double rooms underneath the eaves on the top floor, one of which has a large kingsize bed. The other room can be arranged with a kingsize or twin beds. They share a shower room and separate toilet.
The fourth double bedroom is on the lower ground floor, and also has a shower room and toilet. There's a useful laundry room on this floor too, with a washing machine and separate dryer.
About the area ...
Chalet Hychris is in a great location for guests who want to explore the mountains as well as the wonderful Lake Annecy.
The Aravis mountain resorts, just 30 minutes drive away, provide great choice for skiers in the winter and walkers and bikers in the summer. You can also explore the wonderful markets and restaurants of Annecy (12km), try a variety of watersports or simply hire a boat and explore the lakeside beaches and villages.
The nearest beach to Chalet Hychris is 7km away at Menthon-St-Bernard, where you can also enjoy a lakeside meal and discover its ancient castle.
There are great walks in and around the Annecy area, from family-friendly strolls around the lake to more challenging mountain hikes.
You'll need a car to make the most of your stay at Chalet Hychris, but there's so much to see and do within a short drive of your door.

“Spacious, well-equipped with a quality spa”
We spent three exceptional days at the Hychris chalet. We were 7 adults. The chalet is exactly as described, very welcoming and very well equipped. The bedding, the spa on the terrace, and the barbecue are of excellent quality. The garden, very lush and flowered, allows for both relaxation and games according to one's desires. Our 4 cars were able to park in the dedicated space, which was very convenient.
“Exactly what we needed”
House was lovely and exactly what we needed for two families. Location was great for us to split our team between the mountains and lake. House was clean and host was very helpful and responsive

Chalet Hychris is a newly-renovated chalet for eight guests, with four double bedrooms and three shower rooms, two of which are en suite.
It's set in a quiet location in the village of Alex, between the busy market town of Thônes and the medieval town of Annecy. You'll need a car, but there's great road access to the Aravis ski resorts, and you'll also be able to explore the beautiful medieval town of Annecy, with its picturesque canalised restaurants, popular markets and lakeside beaches.
The garden and huge terrace are a real highlight at Chalet Hychris - there's plenty of room for children to run around and play while the adults relax in the hot tub. Enjoy snowball fights in the winter, football in the summer or enjoy a meal on the sunny terrace.
There are two bedrooms under the eaves on the top floor, one of which has a kingsize bed and a balcony- throw open the doors and enjoy your morning coffee with some fresh mountain air! The other bedroom can be arranged with a kingsize or twin beds.
These rooms share a shower room.
The third bedroom, a kingsize / twin room on the first floor, has its own en suite shower room.
There's plenty of parking at Chalet Hychris, and although the garage is too small for a car, it provides great secure storage for bikes, pushchairs etc.

"My mother, who loved nature and the mountains, and my father, who enjoyed skiing and fishing, made the move from Annecy to be closer to the life they loved. It was here in Alex, a small village between the lake and the mountains, that they found what they were looking for.
They built this family chalet, where I grew up, in the 1980s, so I had a huge range of activities just 30 minutes from my home.
Here you can relax in a wooded park, with a view of the Dents de Lanfon, the Dent due Cruet and the Parmelan, which immerse you in a peaceful yet invigorating atmosphere.
This wooden chalet has been totally renovated, resulting in a home which is both cosy and contemporary. Everything has been taken care of, so that you can enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Whether you want to enjoy the waters of Lake Annecy, ski in the Aravis, make the most of the sporting opportunities that abound in this area, stroll through the backstreets of Annecy old town, or simply relax and take it easy, Chalet Hychris is the perfect place for an unforgettable holiday.
